West Gallaton Farmhouse
Our beautiful farmhouse is located just over two miles south of Stonehaven, on the east coast of Scotland. In a peaceful, rural location, yet with easy access to the town, you can enjoy stunning views over open rural landscape, all the way to the sea. We offer self-catered holiday lets throughout the year.
The house comfortably accommodates up to five adults in three bedrooms.
Outside, the farmhouse has a large (60sqm), fully-enclosed terrace with garden furniture. There is enough parking space for several cars.
On the ground floor there is a spacious, fully-equipped dining kitchen, cosy lounge with wood-burning stove, bathroom and small single (internal) bedroom. Upstairs there are two large bedrooms, one double and one twin.
Most rooms have sea views.
Pets are very welcome.
The Farmhouse has been fully renovated and upgraded to provide all the comforts of modern family living without losing any of the character.
Outside there is a large, sunny terrace, which surrounds the house. The house has open views, over rolling countryside, fields and trees, towards the sea. The terrace is fully-enclosed and paved, with outdoor furniture provided.
The house has oil-fired central heating and the lounge has a wood-burning stove.
Since June 2023, we have full-fibre broadband, with excellent internet connectivity.
Upstairs, the two bright, spacious bedrooms have stunning views out to sea. One has a king-size bed and a small separate dressing room. The other has two single beds.
Downstairs, accessed from the kitchen, the small, internal, room has a single bed.
The sitting room features a wood-burning stove, stripped wooden floors, comfy furniture, and is a lovely, cosy room to relax in. We have a Smart TV with Freeview, Blueray/DVD player, and digital radio. A small selection of books, DVDs and board games is provided.
The modern kitchen is bright and spacious and is fully equipped with everything you could need - hob, oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge and espresso machine.
The utility room has a washing machine and a freezer. This room doubles as a cloakroom and it is through here that you come into the house, so it is the perfect place to kick off shoes and hang up coats.
The bright and modern bathroom is fitted with a heated towel rail, full sized bath, and a very powerful shower.

In the summer months, the Stonehaven Land Train runs from the Market Square, via the harbour, to the castle.
Stonehaven is full of great places to eat, from beachfront cafes to harbour hotels and the Tolbooth, an award winning seafood restaurant located in one of Stonehaven's oldest buildings, overlooking the harbour.
Just along the road from the Farmhouse, riding lessons and hacks can be arranged at Halymyres riding stables. Stonehaven Golf course overlooks the bay. For cyclists, there are many safe quiet roads in this area, as well as forests for downhill biking. Dunnottar woods are at the end of the road - a very popular place for walking, with or without dogs.
The clifftop village of Catterline, with its spectacular sea views, is worth a trip. Watch the seals in the bay and enjoy lunch at the Creel Inn.

"My name is Emma and I am staying here with my mum and sister. We all love this house, it’s so cozy and the location is perfect. Mum’s in love with the wood burning stove and the lovely clean kitchen. My sister Cara’s loving the double bed and the comfy couch. I personally enjoy the walk-in closet in the double bedroom because it’s quiet and the perfect place to write in my diary!
View is beautiful, we love being able to see the sea from our window. We all enjoyed the weather – very lucky to have some sun!
During our stay we went to ‘Jump-In’ and visited Stonehaven often to go to the skatepark and have an ice cream (we recommend the ice-cream shop called ‘Auntie Betty’s’. We also went swimming.
This has, by far, been my favourite holiday yet! Thank you for a wonderful time – we are definitely coming back."
